SCC provides commercial construction management services for clients in education, healthcare, community, faith-based, retail & office, hospitality & multi-family, and industrial & manufacturing sectors.

Summit Construction Company, Inc. is founded by Louis J. Ciraldo. The first office opens in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio

Canal Park

1996

SCCI builds Canal Park Baseball Stadium in downtown Akron

1998

SCCI is awarded its first CMR project for Summit County Libraries

2002

SCCI builds SummaCare building in downtown Akron

SCCI builds Urban Community School in Cleveland. The team goes on to complete the UCS Middle School Addition, Urban Squash Cleveland, MetroHealth Ohio City Health Center at UCS, and UCS Early Childhood Center from 2016 - 2020

2007

SCCI builds Northside Lofts in downtown Akron

2008

SCCI expands into the Columbus market and opens a second office location in Hilliard, Ohio.

2010

SCCI completes the National Inventors Hall of Fame Community Learning Center Renovation and Addition, one of several community learning centers and school projects completed in Northeast Ohio between 2000 and 2014

2013

SCCI completes its first project for Akron Children’s Hospital: a 1,500 square foot renovation for the pediatrics department. SCC goes on to complete nearly 1 million square foot of projects for ACH from 2013 forward

2014

SCCI builds SGS Tool in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio - Summit’s first new building in the industrial/manufacturing sector

2015

SCCI becomes Summit Construction Company, LLC

2015

SCC is awarded its first ground-up school CMR projects with Lancaster City School District: Tallmadge and Medill Elementary Schools

2018

SCC celebrates 25 years in business. Now a company of 55 employees, grown from 3 in 1992. SCC Columbus begins the Student Learning Program, impacting students during school construction projects

2020

SCC purchases a larger office building in Plain City to support growth in Columbus market

2021

SCC is awarded its largest project to date: A 365,000 sf High School and Career Tech Facility for Lancaster City School District. SCC has completed 12+ new K-12 Schools since its first school in 2015

2023

SCC begins office expansion at Akron headquarters to support the growing team. The new training room will put one of our core values “we seek continuous improvement” at the forefront of our work
