Cuyahoga Falls, OH
The sun shone brightly May 13 for the grand opening of Summit County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ facility in Cuyahoga Falls.
Summit Construction provided Construction Manager at Risk services for this 15,848 SF renovation and buildout including a new conference room, office cubicle spaces, meeting rooms, a covered drop off area and an outdoor canopy patio.
The grand opening was filled with smiling faces, cheerful chatter, and an overwhelming sense of community.
Stationed under the covered drop off area was the ribbon cutting ceremony, which included speeches from three prominent women, Summit DD Superintendent Lisa Kamlowsky, County Executive Ilene Shapiro, and CF Superintendent of Parks and Recreation Sara Kline.
After the speeches, the opening of the Summit DD Cuyahoga Falls facility commenced with the ribbon being cut by 13 participants.
The grand opening festivities continued inside the building’s new conference room, where booths were set up showcasing what Summit DD offers the community with. Summit DD even brought a sensory bus for visitors to take part in.
Through the doors of the conference room, small group tours of the facility were given.
One part of the tour that really stood out to our group was the double paneled glass conference rooms. The double paneled glass rooms are so well done that you cannot even tell without looking closely, but it makes a substantial difference with the blocking of noise.
Summit DD held an open house from 3-5 pm on May 13th for the community to experience this new facility.
Summit Construction is proud to partake on this journey with Summit DD, all the way from the construction of the original building in 2009 to this renovation and buildout in 2022.
