Summit Construction was the general contractor the relocation of the In-Patient sleep lab unit. The new 3,000sf sleep lab unit will further Akron Children's Hospital's research for sleep disorders. The SCC Team provided carpentry, painting, electrical, demolition and new finishes throughout the entire space. The project took approximately 4 months to complete while keeping the adjacent units operating 24 hours a day while construction was ongoing. Using temporary partitions and walk-off mats, SCC created a controlled environment that eliminated any interruptions with the adjacent spaces. Additionally, we were able to keep dust and noise to a minimum as some of the louder work was completed in the evening hours. SCC constantly communicated with the hospital’s operations group to coordinate all necessary system shut-downs. This ensured that no other areas of the hospital were effected by this project.
