The new Forest Hill Community Learning Center is part of the Akron Public Schools overall $800 million District Improvement Program. This program includes multiple installments of community schools in the Akron area to improving the learning environment for the students. With the revitalization of the new school, Forest Hill was able to welcome more than 100 new students due to the added square footage which included a Locally Funded Initiative (LFI) for additional classrooms and community spaces. The construction of the 3.91-acre site was completed for the 2008/2009 school year with demolition of the existing school in 2008.
