Summit Construction was selected to provide Construction Manager at Risk Services for Kyocera SGS Precision Tools’ Renovation Project. The Project consists of a 25,000 SF renovation to an existing manufacturing space and a 2,000 SF renovation to the an existing office space in Cuyahoga Falls. Both project sites are located adjacent to fully operational SGS facilities (Building C1 & C3).
The scope of work included demolition of the existing MEPs in the manufacturing space and installation of new MEP’s including electrical service, HVAC, gas, water, and a compressed air system. In addition, new offices and coating / de-coating rooms were constructed. For the office renovation, new flooring, paint and renovations to the exterior facade with ACM panels and stone veneer were completed.
Upon completion of the project, K-SGS will move their hard coating division from the Munroe Falls location into the newly renovated space. This will eliminate the down time between manufacturing, which is done in the adjacent building, and hard coating, which takes place in the Munroe Falls facility. As a result, SGS will be able to increase production and eliminate the need to ship materials off site.
